It was confirmed today that pupils and staff at King Edward VI High School raised over £500 after taking part in the annual Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for charity.
Pupils and staff came in their own clothes and Christmas jumpers on the last day of term and donated money to the ITV Text Santa appeal which this year supported Save the Children, Macmillan Cancer Care and Make A Wish Foundation. Between them they raised £523.03, all of which will be divided between the charities.
Headteacher, Mr Christey, congratulated the staff and students on raising so much money. "King Edward's has always been a school which is proud to do its bit to support those in need and raise money for charitable causes. We are pleased that as a school we were able to take part in Christmas Jumper Day 2015 and make a small contribution to the massive grand total of £8.5 million. Well done to everyone and thank you for your support."
