Rising Brook Church Conference Centre, Burton Square, Stafford, ST17 9LT
SUN is a networking group looking at issues affecting children with special needs/disabilities and their families. The network provides an opportunity for parents, carers, voluntary groups and agencies - such as education, social care and health - to get together and help to make a real difference to the quality of services and people's lives in the community.
At the next SUN, Stafford/Central meeting you will be able to share information and tips, find out what’s on locally, and get an update from the parent’s forum, SPAN.
Learn more about the family support Caudwell Children can offer and funding available for therapies and specialist equipment. You will also be able to find out more about the independent support available from Core Assets & SEND Family Partnership Service.
I would be grateful if you could pass a copy of the attached flyer onto parents of children with special needs at your school inviting them along to the meeting. Dates of future termly meetings and SUN Snippet, a snippet of what went on at last term’s network meeting, are available to download from our website, if you would like to link to your school website/social media site. This may also be something you would like to forward to school staff who have a specific parent liaison role or interest in this area of work.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

It was Tuesday 10th February that over fifty ecstatic year one and two children adventured to King Edward’s sports hall to participate in a variety of fun, enjoyable and action packed tri-golf activities. There were ten activity stations set up including; golf dominoes, zone ball, treasure hunt, target practise and tunnel ball. Each of the stations featured the objective to improve the children’s golf skills.
Twenty five sports leader students from the school dedicated their evening (as well as Mrs Gibbs who organised the evening) to ensure that the children received an unforgettable experience. The children’s satisfaction with the activities is due to the hard work, effort and the team work that the sports leaders and Mrs Gibbs has put into the night.
It was evident that the children had enjoyed the golf activities, not only from the beaming smiles but also from the laughter that filled the room. In addition the appreciation from the children was astounding. The cheering and thank you praises continued until the children had left the building.
